Hi, I'm Alessandra

I am a yoga and meditation instructor working in London and online.

I specialise in 1-to-1 instruction, guiding students to develop a practice that is specifically tailored to their unique needs, desires, tendencies, and areas for growth.

Teaching is my passion, and I firmly believe that yoga and meditation can bring about positive change in people’s lives.

A blend of perspectives

My approach attempts to fit the needs and circumstances of each person, and is grounded in a relationship of warmth and trust between me and you.

My practice combines elements from yogic and Zen Buddhist philosophy, neuroscience, movement science, and physiotherapy to become flexible and inclusive.

I am particularly informed by socially engaged Buddhism, and underpinned by trauma-sensitivity.

Techniques for real life

I teach in a way that is easy to understand and practical for everyday life.

Whether it's breathing techniques, exercises for healthy posture, or meditations that can be done at any time, I focus on breaking down the concepts behind the practice so that they can be easily applied by anyone.

No matter who or how you are

I have practised yoga and meditation for over a decade. Helping me to navigate periods of joy and growth, as well as bereavement, depression, and mental and physical burnout, my practice prioritises longevity, connection to others, and caring for the body, mind, and soul as one unit.

The people who come to my practice hold many different beliefs and come from all walks of life, including those identifying on the spectrum of gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity.

I believe in yoga and meditation for all people, no matter their size, shape, age, ethnicity, societal background, previous experience, or ability.

I have been teaching and facilitating since 2019.

I am certified by the Yoga Alliance and have completed the following trainings and studies:

  • 200H Hatha Raja Vinyasa Krama with Ambra Vallo and Jambo Truong
  • Essential Anatomy with Jason Crandle
  • Restorative Yoga with Anna Ashby
  • Meditation Facilitation with Plum Village UK
  • Mental Health First Aid with MHFA England

I have obtained a BA in Computer Science, including a concentration in global humanities and philosophy, from Columbia University in the City of New York.

Previously, I worked for over 8 years in the corporate world, from funded startups to Fortune 500 companies. Alongside my work as a journalist and software engineer, I dedicated my time to developing people and communities, especially focused on mental health advocacy and supporting underrepresented minorities.
